Proper maintenance and timely repairs are crucial to keeping your auto AC and heating systems functioning optimally.
CDP Diesel & Auto offers relevant services to ensure your driving comfort in all weather conditions.
When your vehicle’s heating and air conditioning fails, it can leave you driving in extreme weather conditions. The experienced HVAC technicians at CDP Diesel & Auto will determine and repair the problem as quickly as possible. Whether your system uses air con R1234YF or R134a refrigerant in Canada, we have the equipment to make the repairs.
The HVAC system in your vehicle is complex. When you need auto AC repair, you must replace several parts as they become contaminated.
The various parts of an auto air conditioning system include:
Compresses refrigerant to raise its temperature and cycles it through the system.
A storage tank for extra refrigerant. It also has a filter and desiccant material to remove moisture and other impurities.
It cools the hot refrigerant by transferring the heat to the outside air.
They control refrigerant flow to the evaporator.
The air is blown through the evaporator, which absorbs the heat and boils the refrigerant to a vapour state.
Includes the blower fans, air ducts, and airflow control valves.
Keep the air clean from dust and soot particles found in the air in the vehicle’s interior.
Include high and low-pressure lines, tubes, control sensors, and pressure control devices.
The heating part of the HVAC system is not as complicated as the air conditioning side. The components include:
Blows the heat into the cabin.
Pumps water through the engine to keep it cool.
For most vehicles, the thermostat will open at around 195 degrees to allow coolant to flow through the radiator to cool off so the vehicle doesn’t overheat.
Blows hot air from the hot coolant or cool air from the refrigerant through the HVAC system.
Radiates the heat from the hot coolant past the blower fan to heat the cabin’s interior.
Carries coolant in a cycle from the engine to the radiator and heating system and back to the engine.
The thermostat regulates the engine temperature; a faulty one can result in inconsistent heating.
Any parts in your vehicle’s HVAC system could break at any time, though they are—for the most part—known to last for many years. While they are referred to as one system, if the heat breaks, you will most likely still have air conditioning and vice versa.
